Quickstart

This page assumes you know roughly what aizk is and that you have an account on a running deployment. The hosted one these docs use answers at https://aizk.phvv.me/mcp, and every command below points there. If you want your own instance instead, First start builds one and you can come back with your own URL in place of that one.

1. Connect one client

The whole product is one URL. Your client discovers that the URL wants OAuth, opens a browser for you to sign in, and keeps the session afterward. Claude Code is the shortest setup.

A browser opens, you sign in, and the client is connected. It now sees four tools named status, find, keep, and share.

Other clients take a config file rather than a command, so use Codex or OpenCode if that is what you run. If the browser never comes back, or the client claims it is signed out, Sign-in troubleshooting has the things that usually cause it.

2. Store your first memory

Just say it. Your assistant calls keep with self-describing Markdown, and the first level-one heading becomes the title that recall will show later.

You named no organization, so this note is private to you. Nothing else needs to be set. Dates, tags, and sharing all exist and all default to a sensible nothing, which is why Writing memory well is worth reading once you have a few notes in.

The call returns an ID. Keep it if you think you may want to share that exact note later.

3. Ask for it back

What comes back is not an answer. It is a short block of Markdown holding the most relevant things aizk holds, each labeled with where it came from.

Your assistant reads that and writes the answer. The label on each item tells you whether it is your own words or something aizk worked out for itself, and that is the whole point of getting evidence rather than a summary. Evidence and provenance explains how to read those labels.

Everything else refines these three steps.

Good habit

You get more out of aizk by writing fewer and better notes than by writing many, and by asking one focused question at a time rather than a compound one.
